We are thrilled to announce our forthcoming Thematic Collection in collaboration with renowned Prof. Richard and Assist. Prof. Shun Lu. This collection will focus on the intriguing area of "Sensors for Environmental Sciences: Mechanisms, Techniques, and Device Design.”

Environmental pollution is a global concern that continues to impact our earth's ecosystems. The rapid industrialization and urbanization have intensified the demand for high-performance sensing technologies capable of accurately detecting and monitoring environmental pollutants.

This thematic collection aims to gather the latest research and developments in the field, with primary emphasis on:

Fluorescent Sensors: The use of fluorescent sensors to trace and identify environmental pollutants, leveraging advanced photophysics and photochemistry for rapid, sensitive detection.

Electrochemical Sensors: Innovations in electrochemical sensors for direct, selective, and sensitive measurement of environmental pollutants, including heavy metals, organic compounds, and gases.

Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) Sensors: Exploring the integration of innovative materials and designs to enhance the performance of SAW sensors, towards real-time, ultra-sensitive detection of environmental pollutants.

Device Design: Cutting-edge designs and microfabricated devices for environmental monitoring, combining multifunctionality material characteristics and device structures to optimize sensing performance.

Our aim is not only to highlight the cutting-edge research in this arena but also to stimulate discussions on challenges, opportunities, and future directions. This collection invites contributions from researchers worldwide to share their original research articles, reviews, and perspectives. Together, we can contribute to the advancement of sensor technologies for environmental pollution, aiding in the global effort towards a sustainable and healthier planet.

We look forward to your invaluable contributions to this Thematic Collection!
